What is Mold?

Mold is a type of fungus that grows in the form of multicellular filaments called hyphae. Mold can grow on various surfaces, such as plants, wood, fabric, soil, food, drywall, floors and ceilings, or where moisture has accumulated. Mold can damage the materials it grows on and cause health problems for people who are exposed to it.
